Grouping Files into Filesets
Grouping Files by Age
13-18 CLI Storage-Management Guide
Reverting to the Default Evaluation Interval
By default, a simple-age fileset selects its files whenever it is used by a rule. To return
to this default, use the
no every command from gbl-ns-vol-fs-simple-age mode:
no every
For example, the following command set configures the “dayOld” fileset to select its
files on demand:
bstnA6k(gbl)# policy-simple-age-fileset dayOld
bstnA6k(gbl-ns-vol-fs-simple-age[dayOld])# no every
bstnA6k(gbl-ns-vol-fs-simple-age[dayOld])# ...
Setting the File-Selection Start Time (optional)
The last step in configuring a simple-age fileset is to set a start time. This is optional;
like the
every command, it creates a regular schedule for selecting files. If used
without the
every command, the fileset selects its files weekly.
The start time marks the time-of-day and/or day-of-the-week to start its selection
schedule. For example, if you choose 1 PM today for a fileset that selects files every 2
days, the policy engine selects files today at 1PM, two days from now at 1PM, four
days from now at 1PM, and so on. You can also use this command to postpone all file
selections until some future date and time. From gbl-ns-vol-fs-simple-age mode, use
the
start command to choose the start date and time:
start date:time
where the colon (:) separates the date from the time.
date defines the start date for the fileset. Use the format mm/dd/yyyy (for
example, 04/01/2003 for April 1, 2003, or 11/20/2005 for November 20,
2005).
time defines the start time. Use the format HH:MM:SS (for example,
12:00:00 for noon, or 17:00:00 for 5 PM).
For example, the following command set configures the “dayOld” fileset to start its
file-selection schedule at 4 AM on May 6, 2005:
bstnA6k(gbl)# policy-simple-age-fileset dayOld
bstnA6k(gbl-ns-vol-fs-simple-age[dayOld])# start 05/06/2005:04:00:00
